Short answer
Stay in the public arrivals area, open your saved booking confirmation and contact dispatch through the original conversation. Send your name, flight and exact location. Do not board a different vehicle or follow someone claiming to be a replacement until dispatch verifies the change.
Check the confirmation before moving
Check the airport code, date and name on the reservation. Confirm that you are in the public arrivals area after customs, rather than still in baggage reclaim or already outside at an unrelated pickup point. Read the latest meeting instructions, as an earlier message may have been superseded.
If several people in your group have booking messages, nominate one contact so dispatch does not receive contradictory locations. Keep everyone together while that person makes contact. Avoid splitting the group between different exits to search independently.
Send a message dispatch can act on
Include your booking name, arriving flight, whether you have collected all bags and a visible landmark. A useful example is: 'Booking under Smith, flight XX123, all four passengers and bags here, public arrivals beside the information sign.' Do not include passport images or other unnecessary identity documents.
If you send a photograph, frame the sign or landmark rather than other travellers. Ask dispatch to confirm where to remain or where to meet. Follow a specific verified instruction instead of moving repeatedly while the driver searches for your previous location.
If your phone has no data
Use the phone number saved with the booking if calling is available. Otherwise, ask an official information desk about connectivity or assistance contacting your provider. Do not assume a particular Wi-Fi network name will still be available; verify the current service at the airport.
Before future trips, save the booking confirmation and destination offline and share them with a companion. Keep enough battery for arrival communication. A second contact number supplied before travel can help if the main phone is unavailable.
Verify any replacement and close the original plan
Compare any replacement driver's details with confirmation from dispatch. A name sign or knowledge of your destination is not enough to verify a change. Keep your bags with you until the correct vehicle is established.
If you decide to use another provider, notify the original dispatch first and request acknowledgement. Retain the conversation if a booking or payment question remains. Do not leave one driver waiting while assuming a message to an unrelated person has cancelled the booking.
