Verify the first and last segments

Ask the transport operator whether its service departs from the airport terminal or from a separate city station. Obtain the stop name, direction and departure time for your travel date. A route shown near the airport on a map is not evidence of a practical passenger connection from arrivals.

Work out how you will reach the stop with your luggage and how you will leave the final station. Do not walk onto airport access roads or along a highway to improvise a connection. If a taxi is needed at both ends, include those fares in the comparison.

Compare suitability as well as the fare

The tourism authority describes intercity coaches and local guaguas as different transport options. Confirm the actual operator's rules for checked bags, sports equipment, children and accessibility. An inexpensive seat is less useful if you cannot safely carry or store your luggage on that service.

Check the last departure and how much flexibility remains after a late flight. A scheduled connection immediately after landing may leave no room for immigration or baggage. For an overnight arrival, verify what operates at that hour rather than relying on daytime information.

Compare door-to-door totals fairly

Add every passenger fare, the airport-to-station leg and the final local connection. Include waiting time and the effort of changing vehicles. For a group, compare that total with one confirmed private-vehicle quote for all people and bags.

Public transport can suit a flexible traveller with light luggage when the route is verified. A direct transfer may be more practical for a late arrival, a child seat or an exact appointment. Choose for the actual itinerary rather than assuming one option is always best.
