Short answer

Tell dispatch about your pet before booking and send its species, size, carrier dimensions and the rest of your luggage. Ask for explicit vehicle acceptance. Airline carriage, Dominican animal-entry requirements and hotel pet policies are separate approvals; a transfer booking does not replace them.

Confirm the paperwork with the competent authorities

Consult DIGEGA and the competent animal-health authority in your departure country for the requirements that apply to your animal and itinerary. The official Dominican dog-and-cat brochure refers to health certification and vaccination records. Check the current rules and document validity before travel rather than using an old forum checklist.

Confirm the airline's carrier, cabin or hold rules independently. Other species, transit countries and the return journey can involve different requirements. Keep the relevant documents accessible on arrival, and tell dispatch that animal-entry formalities may affect your exit time.

Reserve enough space for the carrier and bags

Send carrier length, width and height, not only the pet's weight. Include every passenger and suitcase in the request. A vehicle with enough passenger seats may still lack room for a rigid crate and the group's luggage.

Ask how the carrier will be secured and whether any specific vehicle arrangement or charge applies. Do not assume the pet can travel loose or on an occupied seat. Assistance-animal arrangements should also be discussed directly so the actual accommodation needs are understood.

Prepare the destination and any stop

Confirm the hotel's pet acceptance for the actual animal before booking the transfer there. For a long road journey, discuss any requested comfort stop with dispatch in advance. Keep the animal supervised and contained when doors are open.

Bring the supplies your veterinarian recommends for your own animal; this transport guide does not prescribe sedation or treatment. If the pet is unwell or transport needs change, tell the appropriate professional and dispatch rather than improvising after the vehicle arrives.
