SDQ airport taxi or private transfer? Compare before booking
The useful differences are confirmation, meeting point, capacity and the complete fare—not a blanket claim that one choice always wins.

Short answer
An airport taxi can be a practical on-arrival option; a private transfer lets you arrange the journey before flying. Confirm the full fare, vehicle and meeting terms with whichever provider you choose. Our zone prices are our own private-transfer rates, not official airport taxi tariffs.
| Check | Taxi arranged on arrival | Our pre-booked transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Confirm the total before boarding | Published zone rate, confirmed in writing |
| Meeting | Follow current airport taxi instructions | Name-sign meeting per booking instructions |
| Capacity | Check the available vehicle and luggage space | Send passengers, bags and seat requests before confirmation |
| Payment | Ask the selected provider | Cash USD/DOP or agreed bank transfer |
Ask for one complete price
Give the exact accommodation name and address, not just the destination city. Ask whether the quoted total covers the vehicle or each passenger, taxes, tolls and the luggage you have. Mention any stop or second address before agreeing. A quoted price for a direct trip should not be treated as a quote for an open-ended itinerary.
For reference, our VIP private-transfer rates are $55 to Boca Chica, $79 to Zona Colonial and $349 to Bávaro, one-way per vehicle within the published capacity. These figures do not establish what another provider should charge.
Decide how much needs arranging in advance
A traveller with a simple address and ordinary luggage may be comfortable arranging transport on arrival. A family with several child seats, a group landing on different flights or a guest needing assistance has more to coordinate. Pre-booking is useful when those details need acceptance rather than a last-minute conversation beside the vehicle.
Send the provider the arriving flight number and the local arrival date. State whether everyone is arriving together. Ask when the booking becomes confirmed and how changes are handled. Save the contact and confirmation so you can find them without searching your email in the arrivals hall.
Check capacity with bags, not seats alone
Passenger capacity does not tell you how much cargo space remains when every seat is occupied. List checked cases, cabin bags, strollers, wheelchairs and sports equipment. Ask whether your group and luggage fit together in the confirmed vehicle. If a larger vehicle is needed, settle the revised arrangement before travel.
If travelling with children, specify the number of seats and the information needed to match them. Do not assume that an available taxi or a vehicle labelled VIP automatically has the right child seats. A vehicle upgrade and a child-seat confirmation are separate questions.
Make the return trip a separate plan
An arrival transfer ends at your accommodation. A departure transfer has a check-in deadline, so work backwards from the flight time, the airline's airport-arrival guidance and a realistic driving allowance. Confirm the actual lobby or gate pickup point; resort complexes and apartment buildings can have several entrances.
Our round-trip offer discounts the return leg by 5% when both legs are booked together. Check the displayed round-trip total and confirm both travel dates. A discount does not remove the need to update dispatch if your return flight or accommodation changes.
