SDQ to CEDIMAT or Plaza de la Salud: Plan the Right Drop-Off

Published by A&M Caribbean Group SRL · Published

For a medical appointment in Santo Domingo, confirm the exact facility and patient entrance before arranging your SDQ airport transfer. CEDIMAT and Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud are distinct destinations, and a doctor's office may be elsewhere. Allow separately for airport formalities, traffic and registration; arrange the return as its own journey.

Confirm the institution, not just ‘Plaza de la Salud’

CEDIMAT lists its main address at C/ Pepillo Salcedo, corner of Arturo Logroño, Ensanche La Fe. Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud (HGPS) lists Av. Ortega y Gasset, Ensanche La Fe. Ask the appointment team for the institution, building, patient entrance and a map pin. A neighborhood name alone is insufficient.

Check whether the consultation is at another address

Do not assume every CEDIMAT appointment uses the main site. Its executive-consultation page lists Av. Abraham Lincoln #849, edificio corporativo Yunen, third floor. Treat this as an example of why the appointment address matters, not an instruction to use that office. Reconfirm the actual address and entrance with your appointment team.

Work backwards from registration time

Ask the clinic when you must register, rather than using only the consultation time. Your flight's landing time is not the time the car leaves SDQ: allow for immigration, baggage, customs, meeting the driver and the road journey. If a same-day plan is tight, discuss a different appointment or arrival day with the clinic; transport cannot guarantee punctuality.

Describe the vehicle requirements before booking

Give the passenger and companion count, luggage and any mobility equipment dimensions. Explain whether the passenger can enter an ordinary vehicle seat and who will assist. A VIP label does not confirm a ramp, lift or clinical support. This article concerns ordinary private ground transport; arrange any medical transport requirements directly with the care team and a suitable provider.

Separate the airport ride, hotel and appointment

State whether the first destination is the clinic or your accommodation. Airport–hotel–clinic is a different itinerary from one airport drop-off. Confirm luggage arrangements with the hotel or clinic; neither storage nor bags remaining in a vehicle should be assumed. Ask dispatch to confirm the applicable VIP fare for each actual address and any extra stops.

Choose a workable return arrangement

An appointment's start time does not establish its finish time. Choose an agreed waiting service or a separate pickup with a clear contact and notice arrangement; do not assume immediate on-demand availability. If you are flying home afterward, work backwards from the airline's required airport-arrival time and discuss the schedule with the appointment team before committing.

Share transport details, not your medical file

Dispatch needs your flight, local arrival date, passenger name, reachable contact, destination entrance and practical access needs. Keep diagnoses, test results, passport copies and insurance records out of the transport message unless a specific justified requirement is explained. Send appointment and clinical documents directly to the healthcare provider through its own channels.

Send SDQ VIP one clear request

Example: ‘We arrive at SDQ on [local date], flight [number], with [passengers and bags]. Our appointment is at [institution, full address, building and entrance]; registration is at [time]. We need [access arrangement] and [drop-off only / agreed waiting / separate return]. Please assess the timing and confirm availability, VIP price and change conditions in writing.’ SDQ VIP confirms transport arrangements, not medical appointments or hospital affiliation.
