Check that the ticket actually says SDQ, not another Dominican airport. Copy the hotel's full address and tell the host when you expect to arrive. If landing after midnight, confirm both the transfer date and the hotel night needed for immediate room access.
After landing: finish formalities before meeting the driver
Follow airport signs through the applicable arrival procedures, collect checked bags and deal with any baggage issue before leaving the relevant area. Your driver meets you according to the confirmed public-arrivals instructions, not at baggage reclaim or an aircraft gate.
