Short answer
Check the Dirección General de Aduanas traveller manual for the goods and quantities you plan to bring. A purchase labelled duty-free does not by itself establish your arrival allowance. Complete the required declarations and collect all luggage before meeting your driver in public arrivals.
Check the right authority before packing
The DGA traveller manual is the reference for customs allowances, declarations and restricted goods. Entry permission, airline baggage acceptance and customs clearance are different questions. Check each with the relevant authority or carrier rather than relying on a transport booking to resolve them.
If an item needs clarification, resolve that before departure and retain any instructions or documents you receive. Keep purchase records accessible when appropriate. This guide intentionally does not provide a universal allowance table: the current official rules and your circumstances determine what applies.
Separate baggage collection from pickup time
Your flight's landing time is not the time you reach the car. Immigration, bag delivery and customs take place before the public meeting area. Keep the saved dispatch contact accessible, particularly if a declaration or inspection extends the airport process.
If an airline bag is missing, follow the airline's reporting instructions before leaving the baggage area. Tell dispatch that you are still inside. Flight tracking shows the flight's progress; it cannot show the driver that you are completing a baggage report or an inspection.
Make the vehicle request match what you bring
List checked bags, cabin bags, strollers and oversized cases when requesting the ride. Customs acceptance does not mean an item fits the booked vehicle. Send dimensions for awkward equipment and request confirmation of the loading arrangement.
If airport shopping adds bulky bags, update dispatch before pickup. Keep documents and the items you need on the journey in an accessible small bag. At the car, check that every bag belonging to your party has been loaded before departure.
